Our founder Dr. Wassim W. Ayass identified a structural weakness within the innovation ecosystem.
While patents and trademarks benefit from formal registration systems, unregistered IP assets, particularly trade secrets and proprietary know-how, remain largely fragile. In the absence of reliable, structured protection frameworks, these assets are frequently mismanaged, misappropriated, or irreversibly lost through theft or unauthorized replication. To address this problem, Wassim founded Chained !P, to deliver a simple, secure, and cost-effective solution that leverages blockchain technology to safeguard confidential IP assets while enabling controlled and trusted sharing. Blockchain enables every creation to be encrypted and recorded in a decentralized ledger, securely timestamped and permanently linked to the creator's metadata. Founder
Dr. Wassim W. Ayass is a chemical engineer and chemist with over eight years of experience in intellectual property (IP) across the chemical, materials, biotech and food industries. He has authored 13 scientific publications and is co-inventor on 13 patents. He is fluent in Arabic, English, German, and French.
Wassim has built fully operational IP departments from scratch, establishing workflows, strategies, budgets, licensing models, and internal IP databases (see Chained !P Advisory). He works closely with R&D teams and executive leadership, not only to capture innovation data for patent drafting and structured trade secret protection, but also to transform technical innovation into defensible and monetizable IP assets via data-driven R&D, IP, and business strategies.
